10 Of the Sweetest Desserts You Can Find In the Hudson Valley!

When I say that writing this gallery was a pleasure, I mean it was a real, sweet pleasure for sure!

We always get a lot of readers' attention when we post about food on these pages. And we have done more than 100 food related posts this past year. Just mention a list of Italian restaurants, a gallery of old-school diners, some warm and cozy bakeries, or a neighborhood tavern, and stand back. Everybody has a favorite (including this writer).

This gallery is all about scrumptious desserts. Here you will see some jaw-dropping photographs of ten of the very best desserts we have found this year, and all of them in the Hudson Valley (we will feature other Upstate New York regions in the future). These are impossibly excellent to look at and even better to taste.

When scrolling through the gallery do not let the photos fool you. What might look like a slice of chocolate cake could end up being on another whole new level. And what is that delicious looking dessert with the large toasted marshmallow sitting on top of it (photo at top)? Yup, you guessed it. Awesome.

And remember. These desserts are ones we stumbled upon in our writing and research this year. They may not be permanent items on a restaurant's menu, and they may have been a specialty dessert for a certain time or season of the year. But all of them are gorgeous and show you the supreme talents some of these restaurants have when it comes to capping off your meal with an out-of-this-world dessert as a grand finale for your restaurant experience!

Over the many years of writing this site, we found that any and all food posts that we do are the ones that get the biggest reaction from our readers. Restaurants, taverns, food trucks, food festivals, food holidays, coffee houses, etc. They always get the most attention. Probably the most popular are the ones that feature desserts. So that is what we are going to do!

This gallery looks at some very awesome desserts we have found in the Hudson Valley this year (we will do other Upstate New York regions in the future). Are they the best of the best? Well, we will let you be the judge. But what we do know is that after writing and researching stories all year long, these sweet treats really caught our eyes.

As thousands of folks prepare for summertime travel in Upstate New York, for the most part arrangements and reservations will all be done online and taken care of before they put their first suitcase in the car. That was not the case in the old days. Without the benefit of the internet we simply looked around when we got to wherever we were going and found a nice little motel that appealed to us. And those little motels are what this gallery is all about. Here is a selection of fun and quirky off-the-grid motels still out there beckoning travelers to pull in and spend the night. These are fun.
