New Commander at Troop C Headquarters in Sidney

New York State Police Superintendent, Joseph A. D'Amico, has assigned Major Donald M. Faughnan to the position of Troop C Commander at Troop C Headquarters in Sidney.

Major Faughnan began his career in 1982 as a trooper and was assigned to Troop C. In 1988 he was promoted to Sergeant, and to Lieutenant in 1995. In 2009 he was promoted to Major and assigned to the Forensic Investigation Center in Albany.

Major Faughnan is a graduate Of SUNY- Oswego with a degree in Public Justice. He also holds a Master's in Applied Social Science from SUNY- Binghamton. Major Faughnan's command covers seven counties, including Broome, Chenango, Cortland. Delaware, Otsego, Tioga and Thompkins.

Troopers in Troop C work out of seventeen facilities.
