New Berlin residents will have a chance to weigh in on a proposal to abolish the town’s police department at a public hearing next month. Supervisor Robert Starr tells the Evening Sun the coronavirus severely impacted revenues and while the town has enough in reserves to run the department another year lawmakers want citizen input on taking action before then. The hearing is at 5:50 p.m. on October 13 at the New Berlin Town Hall.
