What Is New York’s Favorite Summer Ice Cream?

Summer is here, and after a record breaking heat wave, we're ready to cool things down in New York.

Sure, you can go swimming in one of the state's dozens of lakes, or hunker down in the Air Conditioning, but a lot of people have one recourse that they refuse to give up: Ice Cream.

Favorite Ice Cream Flavors

Every year, Instacart releases a study on the most popular Ice Cream flavors and brands across America. As always, vanilla took the top spot in the U.S., accounting for over 20% of Ice Cream orders.

This is a national ranking however, so what is New York's personal favorite? According to the study, it's Peanut Butter! We share that with both Ohio, West Virginia, and Connecticut, making it somewhat of a regional favorite. In fact, while most of Central and Western America focuses on Vanilla and Rocky Road, the Northeast is insanely varied in its choices.

Okay, so let's say you have the flavor you want picked out. Your choices aren't nearly done. You still have to pick which brand you want. The top two nationally are  Häagen-Dazs and Ben & Jerry's, but surprisingly, not many states have that as their favorite.

That being said, surprisingly, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island and Hawai'i are the only four states in the union that prefer the Number One national choice.

Regardless of what studies say, everyone has their preference, though, so I have to know... what's yours??
