A New Healthy Chain Eatery Opens In Crossgates Mall

There is a new, healthier option to fast food that just opened in Crossgates Mall. The menu focuses on fresh and fast meals, featuring salads, wraps, smoothies, and bowls.

Bowled Co. is adding another fast-casual eatery to its growing list in the Capital Region. You will find it on the upper level next to Best Buy, where the candy store used to be, making it an easy place to grab something fresh while shopping inside Crossgates Mall.

According to the Albany Business Review, this is Bowled’s ninth Capital Region location. The Capital Region now has Bowled locations in Albany, Amsterdam, Glens Falls, Latham, Malta, Schenectady, Scotia, Troy, and now Crossgates.

Bowled first opened in 2019 in Schenectady’s Crosstown Plaza. Founders Roberto Sgueglia and Kyle Bartling launched the brand with a focus on healthy ingredients and quick service.

Mariah Fortune and Gregory Landolfo later joined as partners. Together, they expanded the chain to eight Capital Region locations before selling six to franchise owners. The Schenectady and Amsterdam restaurants remain company-owned.

Bowled has also grown beyond New York. There are three locations in South Carolina, with more to come, plus a store in Florida and two more in development.

The team plans to continue expanding along the East Coast. For now, fans in the Capital Region have plenty of options to get their favorite bowls, wraps, and smoothies without traveling far. This latest location inside Crossgates Mall is also convenient to many mallgoers.
