State Police in New York say they arrested a Cobleskill, NY, man for five counts of endangering the welfare of a child while he was working at a middle school.
According to the State Police, Troopers received a complaint on April 7th that Paul G. Hallock, 65, of Cobleskill, reportedly had "inappropriate conversations" with students at the William H. Golding Middle School. The report states that Hallock was working there as a lunch monitor.
Why Was Hallock Arrested?
The investigation determined that from October 2024 until February 2025, Hallock allegedly had conversations with "multiple students under the age of 17 that were injurious to the mental and moral welfare of the children."
According to the New York State Police, the Cobleskill-Richmondville Central School District cooperated during the investigation, and Hallock was placed on administrative leave.
What does "Endangering the Welfare of a Child" Mean
Endangering the welfare of a child is a legal term that refers to any action or behavior that puts a child's physical, emotional, or mental health at risk. This can include neglect, abuse, or any other form of mistreatment that could harm a child's well-being.
State Police say that Hallock was arrested and processed at SP Cobleskill. He was then returned to the Schoharie County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
The Cobleskill-Richmondville Central School District cooperated during the investigation, and Hallock was placed on administrative leave.
