It seems that there's a recall every week now on something or other. Avocados that give you E. coli, lettuce that give you diarrhea, the list goes on and on.

Another recall has hit shelves in Upstate New York, so make sure you keep an eye out.

What's Being Recalled?

On August 7th, Horizon Organic, a company known for their organic milk, issued a limited voluntary recall warning for 12-packs and 18-packs of Shelf-Stable (Aseptic) 1% Chocolate Milk, 8 oz cartons.

Just five days later, on August 12th, Market 32 and Price Chopper issued a recall of their own, telling consumers to avoid the product for the time being and to check any Horizon product they may have purchased recently to ensure it's not an effected product.

While Horizon's recall features both the 12-pack (UPC 742365002700) and the 18-pack (UPC 742365208867), Price Chopper and Market 32 have only recalled the 12-pack.

Why are They Being Recalled?

The recall came after several customer complaints that the packaging the product came in was bloated, as well as concerns about milk spoiling early, having a bad taste, odor, or texture.

The company is investigating the issue, and will take corrective action when they know why these issues are occurring.

What to Do if You Bought It

If you check your fridge and see these products with the UPC codes on them, don't panic. At worst, the milk is simply spoiled, but there is recourse.

Horizon recommends that you immediately discard the product, keep your receipt and any packaging information, and call 1-888-494-3020 to learn more and see if you are eligible for a refund.

If you purchased from Market 32 or Price Chopper, you may return the item to the store for a full refund.
