Holiday Train Bringing Live Music & Helping Capital Region Families
Upstate New York is about to get a little brighter, and I’m not talking about putting up your Christmas lights. The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is rolling into town with colorful lights, live music, and a chance to help our neighbors.
What Is The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train?
The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train returns to Upstate New York on November 25th and Thanksgiving Day, November 26th. If you’ve never seen it, picture a train covered in colorful holiday lights with a railcar that opens into a concert stage. Definitely not your everyday railroad crossing.
American Authors and Rafaëlle Roy will provide the live music, and admission is free. Just bring along some nonperishable food or make a monetary donation to help local food banks. A little holiday fun that helps our neighbors? Count me in.
Here’s where you can catch it.
Menands: Wednesday, November 25th
Head to Ganser Smith Memorial Park on Menand Road. The train arrives at 5:15 p.m., with festivities running until 5:45 p.m.
Mechanicville: Wednesday, November 25th
You know I love seeing my hometown on this list. Catch the train at 300 Park Avenue near the Elks Club parking lot. It arrives at 7 p.m., with the show running until 7:30 p.m.
Fort Edward: Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 26th
Take a break from the turkey and head to the Amtrak Station at 70 East Street. The train arrives at 2:45 p.m., with music until 3:15 p.m.
Bundle up, grab the family, and leave a little room in your holiday plans for this festive stop. Before heading out, grab something from the pantry to donate. Those lights will brighten your night, and your donation could brighten someone else’s holiday.
