An Albany based gang has been charged with a massive conspiracy to defraud banks, leading to hundreds of thousands of dollars being stolen from the system.

UGSN Fraud

The gang involved in the conspiracy is known as the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation, and operated in Albany and the surrounding areas since September 2024. According to the complaint filed by the Department of Justice, the group used various crimes to bankroll their operation.

The largest of these was fraud, systemically defrauding individuals, financial institutions, and the U.S. Treasury out of around $620,000. The scheme was uncovered during a joint operation with local, state, and federal law enforcement with the United States Department of Justice's National Fraud Enforcement Division.
