Starbucks Closing Hundreds Of Locations – Is New York Getting Hit?
Starbucks is one of those places that you can usually depend on being in no matter where you're traveling. Their footprint on North America seems to be shrinking as they've announced closures of over 200 stores for this week. As of this morning many are finding that their locations were on that list of closures when they went to get a cup of coffee and found it to be shuttered.

With 16 closures, New York was hit pretty hard. It doesn't appear that any Capital Region locations have made that list yet, but that could change as they go through. New Jersey only saw two closures so far while California saw over 40 Starbucks locations close as a result of this latest downsizing.
In Upstate New York Starbucks can be found is nearly every community, and in many of the Apple Green rest areas along the New York State Thruway. Starbucks currently has over 16,000 locations nationwide.
Starbucks has certainly seen their competition grow, especially from places like 7 Brew, who continue to add new locations to their fast growing company.
