One of Albany's best import stores is celebrating a major milestone and you're all invited.

New Scotland Ave in Albany has been lucky to have Ragonese Imports there for now 40 years. We've talked about Ragonese before how amazing it is to have the store in our area. Now they want to show their appreciation to everyone for supporting them for all of these years. Without community support, we would lose this amazing Albany gem.

As the list of events goes, this will be a full day of fun for the community in the New Scotland neighborhood. From 11:30am-3pm on May 2 you'll be able to live music and Italian specialties. You can bet that I will be there to help with this celebration.

It has been a tough go for many of our favorite import stores and delis in 2026. Gershon's in Schenectady announced a sudden closure and so did Genoa in Loudonville. Through all of this, Ragonese remains a strong force in our local community. A lot of that comes from the support they get to keep them going.

Nearly every time I go in there to get my favorite chicken cutlet sandwich (and I'm sorry, no one if doing a better chicken cutlet in Albany) the line is the the back of the store. I love to see a local business thrive, especially when there are so many franchise options for people to choose. in a world of Jersey Mike's and DiBella's, Ragonese quality cannot be beat.
