Tyler Adams is a young man from a small Hudson Valley town and he is about to lead team USA in the 2026 FIFA World Cup tournament. Adams not only made the team but has been named team captain for a second time.

The FIFA World Cup is the premier international soccer tournament, where senior men's national teams compete every four years to be crowned world champions. This is the most widely viewed single sporting event in the world.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup tournament kicks off Thursday June 11th with the first of 104 total matches played in 16 different host cities in Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The United States will see it's first action Friday June 12th against Paraguay.

Tyler Adams was born on February 14, 1999, Valentine's Day, in Wappingers Falls, NY and is a 2017 graduate of Roy C. Ketchum High School. By 2022 Adams was named captain of the United States team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. This would happen again for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Martz Field Recreation Facility, 126 Pye Lane in Wappingers Falls, was rededicated as "Tyler Adams Soccer Pitch" in his honor. Adams is also co-owner of the Hudson Valley Hammers.
