Sullivan County DMV Will Be Closed for Several Days
If you need to take a trip to the DMV in Sullivan County, you'll want to plan ahead because the office in Monticello has announced it will be closed for several days.
Most of us never look forward to visiting any of the Department of Motor Vehicles locations in the Hudson Valley. It's not something many people say they can't wait to do, right? But if you make a plan to go, take time off work, or have to move things around in your schedule, the last thing you want to happen is to show up and find out the office is closed.
If you live in Sullivan County and need to visit the DMV in Monticello, be aware that the office is going to be closed for a few days.
DMV Closed in Sullivan County, NY
The Sullivan County Department of Motor Vehicles office located at 100 North Street in Monticello will be temporarily closed to the public from Friday, October 30 through Tuesday, November 3, with the office scheduled to reopen on Wednesday, November 4.

According to Sullivan County officials, the temporary closure is happening because renovations are being completed throughout the DMV office. Sullivan County Clerk Russell Reeves, who oversees the DMV, says the renovations are already making a difference, including quicker service and positive feedback from people visiting the office.
While the DMV will be closed on October 30 and November 2 because of the renovations, there's another reason for the November 3 closure. All Sullivan County government offices will be closed that day for Election Day.
Now, if anyone needs to visit the DMV before the scheduled closure, there is some good news.
Sullivan County DMV Staying Open Later
The Monticello DMV will be staying open later on Wednesday, October 28, and Thursday, October 29. The office will remain open until 6:30 p.m. on both days to help make up for the upcoming closures.

Officials are reminding residents that they will not accept appointments or walk-ins after 6:30 p.m., so anyone planning to take advantage of the extended hours will need to arrive earlier. Appointments are also strongly encouraged, and residents can use Sullivan County's online DMV scheduling system to make an appointment.
The county's mobile DMV office will not be affected by the closure and will continue operating throughout Sullivan County on its normal schedule.
So, if you have DMV business to take care of in Monticello, make sure you get it done before the office closes October 30, or plan for a trip after it reopens November 4.
