Spirit Halloween Pop Ups Opening Across The US This Month

Augtober is in full swing and this just solidifies it.

Spirit Halloween is slowly starting to open their doors across the US this month. The Halloween season kicked off at the Spirit Halloween flagship location in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, on Saturday August 1st, 2026 according to their website.

Thousands of Halloween enthusiast showed up from all over the nation to embrace spooky season and get a first look at what Spirit Halloween has to offer this year.

Fans of Halloween will be able to visit several locations across the Hudson Valley and Greater Danbury area, including a new pop up location in Poughkeepsie.

Spirit Halloween Locations in the Hudson Valley, Plus a New Location in Poughkeepsie

For the last few years, there have been 2 Spirit Halloween locations in the Poughkeepsie area.

One was in the Stop & Shop Plaza on South Road and the other was located in the Shoppes at South Hills. Davis Furniture recently moved into the South Hills location, and we haven't seen any signs up near the Stop & Shop location.

So we did a little digging. This year, Poughkeepsie will once again have 2 locations. The first location will be, according to the Spirit Halloween website, at the former Rite Aid across from Marist University at 3350 U.S. 9.

The other new Spirit Poughkeepsie location will be located at the former Sears at the Poughkeepsie Galleria. On the Spirit website it states that the Rite Aid location will open in August and the Poughkeepsie Galleria location is "opening soon."

What's New at Spirit Halloween in 2026?

Back in June 2026, Spirit started to tease fans on what to expect at stores this year.

It's all about the animatronics! According to a Spirit Halloween press release:

This year's collection introduces next-level technology designed to make every scare more immersive than ever.

They have everything form "conversation-response technology that listens and reacts in real time to Bluetooth-enabled audio control" all made to handle outdoor weather. Spirit explains "this year's animatronics are designed to do more than perform."

Animatronic decor includes the Trash Bandit, a radioactive racoon who in hungry for more than garbage and the Doomsday Duo described as "Bound by blood and obsession, this duo welcomes the end of civilization in a burst of glowing green destruction,"

There are also classic like a Willow Witch and Michael Meyers.
