Viral New York City Tour Has Tourists Feeding Pizza to Rats
It has been a while since I have spent time in New York City. I would like to think I would still know my way around from my commuting days in the 1980s but I am also sure much has changed.
Many things are different in New York City since the 1980s. Too many to name but many things have stayed the same. For instance, there is always a way to make money off a tourist in New York City. The other never-ending constant is the rat population. One entrepreneurial individual has found a way to capitalize on both.
Little Known Unusual Tours in New York City
As if New York City didn't offer enough things to do it has to add a few that are obscure. According to Atlas Obscura Guide to New York City, you can find 753 things to do out of the ordinary when you visit the Big Apple. Everything from The Lexington Candy Shop which is billed as the oldest family-run luncheonette in New York to The Elevated Acre a garden oasis located above the busy streets in the financial district.
I have not read down the entire list published by Atlas Obscura but I am going to go out on a limb and say that the tour I heard about last week might be the craziest. If it didn't make the list it needs to, apparently you can now take a Rat Tour in New York City.
Rat Tours Are Real in New York City with Rat Tok
Last week Drew Barrymore had Kenny also known as Nyc-kb on Facebook on her show. This was where I learned that you can take a tour of New York to see Rats. Yes, you can go on a Rat Tour.
Who Is Rat Daddy the Viral Rat Tok Guy
According to Kenny's official website visitnyckb.com he started tours of New York City after the pandemic. He had gotten stuck in New York during the pandemic and used learning his way around the city as a way to stay busy plus get outside.
Instead of just staying inside, I decided to take it upon myself and learn my way around the city. It was a renaissance of sorts in NYC ..... I wanted to see what the city looked like, what businesses were open still, and answer all the questions that tourists had if they were still interested in visiting New York during the pandemic (via visitnyckb.com)
Fast forward to 2024 and you can now hire Kenny to take you around the city to see sights and visit local businesses he has come to know. Plus if you want you can take a Rat Tour.
How Much Does A Rat Tour Cost
The Rat Tour can be booked through visitnyckb.com. It lasts an hour and has a cost of $50. Kenny also offers other walking tours of New York City that range from 2 hours for $175 to 6 hours which cost $300. Kenny also sells his Rat Tok merchandise probably to help pay for the Rat's pizza.
