The Hudson Valley Experiences it Hottest Day in 25 Years

It was a summer scorcher across the region from July 1st through the 4th of July.

Weather reports warned of temperatures in the high 90s low 100s. When it comes to severe weather the Hudson Valley always turns to Meteorologist Ben Noll.

Usually, Noll comes in the clutch with extremely accurate winter weather predictions and reports which is always so impressive since he lives all the way in New Zealand.

This time around Noll gave us some impressive numbers as a heat dome encapsulated the Hudson Valley.

On July 2nd, 2026, according to the National Weather Service, it felt like 109 degrees across the region.

With that being said Noll is reporting that the Hudson Valley experienced its second hottest day on record as it reached 103 degrees.

Noll added in the comment section:

It was also the region’s hottest day in 25 years (since August 2001) and only the sixth time on record the temperature reached at least 103 degrees in almost a century.
That’s according to weather data from Dutchess County Airport, which begins in 1931.

Summer is just starting and we're already breaking records. Sounds like its going to be a hot one this year.

Severe Weather Blows Through Hudson Valley on 4th of July

After a string of extremely hot days under the Heat Dome, the skies opened up on July 4th, 2026.

They add that "89 mutual aid personnel" came in to support restoration efforts "with additional assistance continuing to arrive."

Crews are working around the clock to "safely repair damage and restore service."
