Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County is celebrating 40 years of making a difference in our community. It has served over 500 families through home building, repair, and education. Habitat Dutchess has also kept over 7500 tons out of the landfill through ReStore, which is celebrating 10 years of operation. They have also built and repaired over 400 homes and partnered with over 2000 volunteers.

They can't do it without you. There are so many ways you can be a part of Habitat Dutchess and their mission to ensure everyone has a safe, affordable place to call home. Volunteering, financial support, and donating goods to ReStore are a great start. Land donations are also welcome.

Starting this month and running through April 18th, 2026, there are opportunities for you to donate both time and resources to the Habitat Dutchess Women's Build. Volunteer to be part of a build or raise donations. You can even form a team and join Habitat on one of the many projects they have scheduled over the next 6 weeks.

These build events are all about opening doors, literally and figuratively, for women-led households across Dutchess and Putnam Counties. Find out how to volunteer, no construction experience necessary. If you can't volunteer your time, please take a moment to see how else you can help.

As you set out to declutter this spring, consider what you might donate to ReStore Dutchess in Wappingers Falls. Gently used household items, antiques, and more, even leftover home renovation supplies, are all items ReStore Dutchess will accept. You can even donate a car, running or not.

ReStore Dutchess is celebrating 10 years as a source for great shopping, while also being a place that has kept over 7500 tons of stuff out of our landfills. ReStore is located on Route 9 in Wappingers, and you are invited on June 17th to their 10th Anniversary Ribbon Cutting at 4 PM to celebrate and shop. If you love thrifting, ReStore is a great place to shop, and your purchase helps build the community.
