
Popular Hudson Valley Furniture Store Moving Into New Location
One of the Hudson Valley's best places for furniture has announced it is moving into a brand new location in Dutchess County.
If you've ever had to go furniture shopping in the Hudson Valley, you already know that it can be tough going from store to store trying to find that perfect item. When I moved into my new house a few years ago, I dreaded thinking about the whole process until a friend suggested that I start at Davis Furniture in Poughkeepsie. I took his suggestion, and a week later, I had everything picked out and delivery scheduled. They really were so easy to work with, which is no surprise, they been in business for 102 years.

Davis Furniture Moving in Poughkeepsie, NY
Last year, we learned that the folks at Davis Furniture were planning to move from its current location on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie to a new location. Back in October, Davis Furniture hung a banner outside of its Poughkeepsie store at 2264 South Rd announcing that they would be moving soon. At the time, they didn't share when or where the move would happen, but did say that they were actively looking for a new space and promised customers that they would stay local to the Poughkeepsie area.
Five months later, Davis Furniture has a new home!
Davis Furniture Confirms New Dutchess County Location
A post on Facebook has confirmed that Davis Furniture is preparing to move into the former Burlington building located at the South Hills Shopping Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. The post stated that the new space will be the largest store in Davis Furniture 102 year history and will be full of its best-selling pieces of furniture as well as 100’s of new items.

"Get ready for more American-made custom styles, colors and sizes," said the Facebook post. "More chemical free and organic options for a healthier home, and the same “no-pressure” service you’ve known for generations."
This move will be the 16th move in Davis Furniture's long history in Dutchess County, and the owners expressed gratitude for customers, saying,
"In our 102-year history, we’ve moved approximately 16 times—and we wanted to thank all of our amazing customers that have always followed us, no matter where we ended up. We are so grateful for your patience and support while we finalized this new space."
At this time its unclear when the new store will open, but when the date is announced, we will update this article.
