Brewster Veterinary Hospital Gives Update on Rescued German Shephard
After being rescued, we learned that the German Shephard would be spending some time at Brewster Veterinary Hospital as they recovered.
We're now starting to get some updates on the recovery process. First, we learn that the German Shephard now goes by Starr.
Brewster Veterinary Hospital shared that along with her muzzled nose, they learned she also had "broken teeth and damage to the tissue surrounded her mouth. She also had abrasions around her collar area and scarring on her ear."
In the latest update Brewster Veterinary Hospital writes:
Our veterinary team performed a sedated examination, cleaned and treated her wounds, and began managing her immediate medical needs. Starr is now being given time for the swelling to subside before the next stage of her treatment. She is expected to require additional dental care, including extractions, as well as reconstructive surgery.
To protect the integrity of that investigation, we will not speculate or provide additional details regarding the circumstances in which she was found.Right now, our focus is where it belongs: on Starr and her recovery.
