Accord Speedway Cancels Popular Gobbler Race for 2026
Race fans will have to wait until next year for one of the most anticipated events at the Accord Speedway, as the Ulster County track has announced that this year's Gobbler race has been canceled.
Accord Speedway recently shared the news on social media, announcing that the 2026 racing season has officially come to an end. While there's still plenty happening at the speedway over the next few weeks, the focus now shifts to making some improvements ahead of the 2027 season.

Why Is Accord Speedway Canceling the Gobbler?
According to the speedway's announcement, owner Gary has decided to cancel this year's Gobbler race, scheduled for November 28th, so work can begin on laying down new clay that is already on the property. The track also plans to make improvements to its lighting before the colder weather arrives.
The upgrades will help get the speedway ready for the 2027 racing season, giving the team an opportunity to get some important work done during the offseason.
While the cancellation may be disappointing news for drivers and fans who look forward to the Gobbler each year, the planned improvements give everyone something to look forward to when racing returns next season.

What's Still Happening at Accord Speedway?
Even though the Gobbler is off the schedule, there are still a few events planned at the speedway, located at 299 Whitfield Road in Accord, in the Town of Rochester, before the end of the year.
The Historic Preservation Committee will host its Whitfield Hamlet Talk Series at the track on Sunday, October 18, at noon. Families can also take advantage of a free Trunk or Treat event scheduled for October 30. The speedway also plans to host its Country Christmas celebration, although a date has not yet been announced.
