New York Taco Bell Locations Have Hit The Rewind Button

We love a good throwback reference around here, the more nostalgic (and usually cringy), the better. With that in mind, imagine how excited our throwback-loving hearts were when we heard the news that a fast food spot with a number of Hudson Valley locations was going to be taking us back in time, not only with some old school Y2K menu items, but with the prices that go along with them!

Yo Quiero Taco Bell

Do you remember ringing in the year 2000? I was in high school and my parents decided to let me host the NYE party. Bunch of friends, pots and pans, turning the giant computer off in advance of a Y2K shutdown....ahh the good ol'days.

I'm sure you can remember what Taco Bell looked like back in those Y2K days, that green and purple accent coloring inside and the 'Yo quiero Taco Bell' chihuahua (did you know his name was Gidget).

Of course there was all those menu items that came, and eventually went, many of which people still talk about all these years later.

Taco Bell Takes It Back To Y2K

A recent announcement has Taco Bell fans screaming with excitement, as they're gearing up to bring back five of the most requested 'Y2K-era' favorite menu items. Deemed 'iconic fan favorites,' for a limited time only, 'the Bell' will bring back the Caramel Apple Empanada, Cool Ranch® Doritos® Locos Tacos, 7-Layer Burrito, Double Decker Taco, and Chili Cheese Burrito.

On September 9th, the most 'hyped' items will return, but only for a limited time, as part of Taco Bell's Decades Y2K Menu, and, all for $3 or less.

In addition to the nostalgic menu items, they're also offering some pretty incredible collector items for Taco Bell Reward Members like a Y2K inspired digital watch, the vintage t-shirts and even a collab with Ed Hardy. These items will be released on various dates during the month of September, and are part of a very limited release. Learn more and check out additional photos here.

Other notable Taco Bell throwback festivities included a Decades Y2K party featuring Lil Jon, a 20th anniversary for the 'hexagon hero' - aka the Crunchwrap Supreme (with some special Discovery Luxe Cravings Box options), and, the launch of the 'Crunchkin' - 'Taco Bell's first digital pet, inspired by our iconic menu items.'
