Love is Blind: New York City Edition

It was just a matter of time before Love is Blind, LIB if you're a real fan, made their way to New York. After casting in major cities including Atlanta (season 1), Chicago (season 2), Dallas (season 3), Seattle (season 4), Houston (season 5), Charlotte (season 6), Washington D.C. (season 7), Minneapolis (season 8) and Denver (season 9), they'll soon to add the city that never sleeps to the list.

According to AOL, Kinetic Content began posting on Instagram 'this week' (the week of July 27th) regarding casting in six different cities, including New York City, for a fresh crop of singles to fill up the pods for a future season.

Looking for love? Great! Willing to propose to a wall before seeing their face? Even better!

Full disclosure, i've watched every episode of every season of this show since it debuted back in 2020. I'll never forget, just days into the very start of COVID, being at physical therapy for an ankle injury and one of the therapists telling me 'Val, if you're going to be at home with this ankle, and because of the pandemic, you HAVE to watch this show.' Boy did I ever watch every single (sometimes cringeworthy) moment, and have ever since.

Secret NYC report that singles, if selected, do get paid to date, earning a set amount for the 10-day pod phase and then additional compensation for making it through to the honeymoon, altar, and the reunion. They go on to say that In order to apply, you must be at least 21, submit a 15-second introduction video, take a deep dive into your dating history via a questionnaire, and oh yeah, be 'truly single.'

Timeout.com goes a bit deeper:

Casting directors say they're searching for single men and women living in the New York City area who are "brave, open-minded and ready for a committed, long-term relationship." Applicants must be at least 21 years old, legal U.S. residents and genuinely single—you can’t be married, living with a partner or in the middle of a divorce or annulment. (You'll also need a valid passport that's good for at least a year after applying.)
