
Dump Your Hazardous Junk for Free in Orange County
One of the most difficult parts of any project is what to do with the trash that's left over. From paint to pesticides to batteries, there's a long list of items that just don't belong in the regular trash.
While there are a few select drop-off locations for specific items, the task of cleaning out en entire garage or storage space can quickly go south when nontraditional items add up. Luckily, the Orange County, NY government has shared an easy way to get rid of nearly everything... for free.

The program is made available to both private residents as well as schools, businesses, farms, and even local municipalities, and the list of items accepted is extensive. The Orange County Government Facebook page recently shared an easy cheat-sheet for anyone looking to offload their tricky trash.

The hazardous waste collection will happen on September 26th for public entities by appointment and September 27th for Orange County, NY residents (photo ID proving residency is required). Collections will run from 9am to 3pm at 21 Training Center Lane in New Hampton, NY, and many items are accepted.
