Virtual Fly-Through Video Rendering Of The Binghamton Airport Transformation
Major construction for updates at the Greater Binghamton Airport continues to progress.
September 9, 20204, a new two-and-a-half minute fly-through video rendering was unveiled by New York State Governor Kathy Hochul which reveals a glimpse of a reimagined Greater Binghamton Airport.
The video shows what the major upgrades will look like once the $32 million dollar project is complete. The finding is part of Governor Hochul's $230 million Upstate Airport Economic Development and Revitalization Competition.

These upgrades were initially announced in November 2023 by Governor Hochul. Airport consultants produced the fly-through video, which can be viewed here.

The major changes currently in progress for both the interior and exterior portions of the Greater Binghamton airport include::
- Redevelopment of the Airport Road Approach
- Construction of a new canopy and entry portals
- Reconfiguration of the ticketing lobby and outbound baggage area
- Renovation of the departure lobby and lounge
- Renovation of the baggage claim area and relocation of rental car counters
- New parking revenue control systems
- Installation of geothermal wells
The total cost of improvements to the Greater Binghamton Airport is estimated at $53.9 million according to the Governor's Office. The project benefited from $14.8 million in federal funding through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act Airport Terminal Project.
The revitalization at the Greater Binghamton Airport is expected to be complete by Spring 2025.
