The Tioga County, New York Sheriff's Office continues to update the public on recent charges and arrests on their Facebook page.

The post may not encompass all recent Tioga County Sheriff activity. As a reminder, every person arrested and/or charged is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

February 5, 2025, Andrew Gildea from Ithaca, New York was arrested on a warrant issued by the Town of Newark Valley Court for Arson in the third degree, a class C felony, and Criminal Mischief in the second degree, a class D felony. Gildea was also charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree, an unclassified misdemeanor. He was arraigned in court  and transported to the Tompkins County Jail in Ithaca, New York where he was being held on bail for a separate matter. The arrests were made at the conclusion of a 6-month long investigation relating to a structure fire that occurred on June 19, 2024 at 149-151 Murphy Lane in the Town of Newark Valley.
January 22, 2025, Candi Bellis of Nichols New York was arrested for being a fugitive from justice from the State of Pennsylvania after an arrest warrant was issued for  burglary, criminal trespass, and theft by unlawful taking.
Also on January 22, 2025, Amanda Hazard of  Nichols New York was arrested for being a fugitive from justice from the State of Pennsylvania for the charges of conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit criminal trespass. In addition, Deputies arrested Dustin Relyea from Nichols New York for being a fugitive from justice from the State of Pennsylvania after an arrest warrant was issued for burglary, criminal trespass, and theft by unlawful taking.
January 14, 2025,Tioga County Sheriff’s Office arrested Robert Russell from Candor, New York for criminal contempt in the second degree, endangering the welfare of a child, and criminal mischief in the third degree, resulting from an investigation into a domestic disturbance. He was arraigned in court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail.
January 25, 2025, Luke Abbey of Owego, New York was arrested for DWI, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and moving from lane unsafely in the Town of Nichols, New York. He was issued appearance tickets and was released on his own recognizance to appear at a later court date.
January 30, 2025, India Toombs from Binghamton, New York was arrested following a report of a domestic disturbance at the Onvo Truck Stop in the Town of Nichols, New York. It was determined that following a dispute, Toombs attempted to strike the victim with her vehicle. He was charged with attempted assault in the 2nd degree, a Class E Felony and arraigned in Tioga County Court. Toombs was released on her own recognizance to appear in Town of Nichols Court at a later date.
Also on January 30, 2025, the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kadeijiah Clemons from Johnson City, New York was arrested for assault in the 3rd degree, resulting from an investigation into a Domestic Disturbance in the Town of Nichol, New York. During the investigation, it was found that Clemons caused physical injury to the hand of another person. He was issued an appearance ticket to appear at a later court date.
