As part of the New York State Gun Violence Elimination initiative, according to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, on April 4, 2025, deputies, along with Binghamton Police, conducted a targeted enforcement campaign in Binghamton.

A total of 19 vehicle stops were performed during the operation, which also included members of the Sheriff’s Patrol Division, Strategic Response Group, the Special Investigations Unit Task Force, and Broome County Sheriff Fred Akshar.

According to the report from the Broome County Sheriff's Office,  the following arrests were made:

Isaac Decker from the Town of Chenango was arrested after speeding through downtown Binghamton and causing a two-car motor vehicle accident at the Court Street roundabout. He was charged with driving while intoxicated (1st Offense), reckless endangerment in the 2nd degree, reckless driving, and several traffic violations.

Jesten Hyde of Conklin was arrested after he was found to have 23 grams of meth following a traffic stop in the area of Powers Road in Binghamton. He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 4th Degree.

Christopher Pierre from Endicott was arrested after he was found to have 9.4 grams of cocaine, 6.8 grams of methamphetamine, and another schedule 2 controlled substance following a traffic stop in the Chenango Street Binghamton area. He was charged with three counts of criminal possession of narcotics with intent to sell in the 3rd Degree, criminal possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell in the 3rd degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell in the 3rd degree, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th Degree.
