Those who travel in Broome County are encouraged to take note of the roadwork projects scheduled for the week of August 12. The Department of Public Works has outlined a series of critical maintenance activities to enhance local roadways' condition and safety.

Weather-dependent paving operations are set to be carried out on Prospect Street, spanning from Glenwood Road to Airport Road and on Downs Avenue, extending from the City of Binghamton line to Airport Road. Motorists are urged to exercise caution and adhere to any temporary traffic modifications implemented during these paving operations.

Furthermore, milling work will be undertaken on Kattelville Road, from River Road to NYS Rt. 12A. Ditch cleaning and shoulder reconstruction will also be conducted on various roads, including Old Route 17, Stratmill Road, North Road, Knapp Road, and East Maine Road.

The maintenance agenda encompasses an array of tasks, encompassing culvert maintenance on Oquaga Lake Road and Knapp Road, manhole repairs on Oakdale Road, and closed drainage systems at the Route 26 termination of Bunn Hill Road.
