Tuesday, August 11 - Rumble Ponies - 16  Sea Dogs - 4

Binghamton won their eighth consecutive game behind 15 hits to defeat Portland  16-4 at Delta Dental Park at Hadlock Field on Tuesday night.

Binghamton is 9-1 over their last 10 games with 17 home runs. They took a 1-0 lead in the first inning off left-hander Dalton Rodgers. Third baseman Jefferson Rojas deposited his first home run with the New York Mets organization and his 16th of the year.

The Rumble Ponies led all night, and it continued on a four-run second inning. Rogers walked three batters and hit one by a pitch. Left fielder Corey Collins scored center fielder Chris Suero on a walk. Then two batters later, shortstop Marco Vargas chalked up a two-run single, and second baseman Émilien Pitre followed with a sacrifice fly to make it 5-0.

Binghamton right-hander R.J. Gordon (W, 3-7) dazzled across 7 innings pitched and allowed just one earned run with five hits. It is the third consecutive start where Gordon pitched at least 6 innings. He has allowed just two earned runs over his last two starts that have spanned 13 innings.

Gordon has also now matched the career high of seven innings pitched for the second time in his last three outings.

Wednesday, August 12 - Rumble Ponies - 13  Sea Dogs - 5

The Rumble Ponies won their ninth consecutive game behind 16 hits to defeat the Sea Dogs, 13-5.

Over the first two games of the series against the Sea Dogs, the Rumble Ponies have 31 hits and 29 runs scored. The nine-game win streak is tied for the fifth-longest win streak in Binghamton Double-A history, and they are 10-1 in the month of August.

Binghamton has scored in the first inning in six of their last eight games and took a 1-0 lead tonight in the first frame. Shortstop Mitch Voit led off and tallied his eighth double through 12 Double-A games, and after third baseman Émilien Pitre grounded out to send Voit to third base, second baseman Jefferson Rojas delivered a sacrifice fly. This was Voit's seventh multi-hit game in 12 games.

The Rumble Ponies scored five runs on four hits in the second inning to take a 6-0 lead. Catcher Chris Suero led off the frame with a solo home run, his 15th of the season and just one shy of matching his career-high that he set in 2025.

Thursday, August 13 - Rumble Ponies - 6  Sea Dogs - 2

Binghamton won their 10th consecutive game, tying the fourth-longest win streak in Double-A Binghamton history, to defeat Portland 6-2.

Binghamton held a 3-2 lead into the top of the seventh inning and had two runners on base when third baseman Jacob Reimer came to the plate against right-handed reliever Caleb Bolden. Reimer delivered the big swing, a three-run home run, his seventh at Double-A this season, to make it 6-2. It was Reimer’s first home run since being activated off the injured list, and he now has 10 RBI over his first seven games back with Binghamton.

The seventh inning was started by an infield single from catcher Kevin Parada for his eighth multi-hit game. Then with two outs, designated hitter Jefferson Rojas reached on a catcher's interference against Ronald Rosario to set up Reimer. Binghamton right-hander Dakota Hawkins made the start for Binghamton and tossed 3.0 innings and allowed two earned runs on four hits.

Friday, August 14 - Sea Dogs - 10  Rumble Ponies - 3

Well, it had to happen sometime...the Rumble Ponies had their 10-game winning streak snapped and suffered their first loss since August 1 in a 10-3 defeat to the Sea Dogs on Friday night.

Portland jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning against right-hander Noah Hall, marking the largest deficit Binghamton faced during its 10-game winning streak. Shortstop Henry Godbout, the second batter of the game, singled, and designated hitter Jack Winnay followed with a two-run home run.

The next three Sea Dogs hitters reached base. First baseman Brooks Brannon and center fielder Miguel Bleis singled to set up second baseman Yoelilin Cespedes, who brought in Brannon on a single. Catcher Nate Baez capped off the four-run inning with a sacrifice fly, which scored Bleis.

Binghamton cut the Portland lead to 4-2 in the top of the third inning against left-hander Devin Futrell (W, 1-0). Right fielder Yohairo Cuevas led off the inning with a double, his second at Double-A and his second of the series. Shortstop Mitch Voit followed with a single, sending Cuevas to third base, and designated hitter Marco Vargas delivered a sacrifice fly to make it 4-1.

The Rumble Ponies had four hits in the inning; the third was a single off the bat of second baseman Émilien Pitre, and then with two outs, third baseman Billy Amick hammered an RBI double. Amick finished the game with two RBI to raise the total to 91, which leads all of Double-A.

Saturday, August 15 - Rumble Ponies - 14  Sea Dogs - 2

Binghamton wasted no time getting back on the winning track, securing a series victory with their fifth double-digit run game of August, defeating Portland 14-2 on Saturday.

Binghamton jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the third inning against left-hander Michael Sansone. On the first pitch of the inning, Kevin Parada clubbed a solo home run, his third over his last 10 games.

Right fielder Yohairo Cuevas singled, flipping the order to designated hitter Mitch Voit, who doubled off the wall in left field, and it set up second baseman Émilien Pitre, who delivered a sacrifice fly. One batter later, shortstop Jefferson Rojas slapped an RBI single to make it 3-0. It was his 10th RBI with Binghamton over nine games.

The inning was highlighted by first baseman Billy Amick, who clubbed a two-run home run, his 30th blast of the year, and it raised his RBI total to 92. Amick ranks among Minor League Baseball: T-7th in HR and 6th with 92 RBI.

Binghamton right-hander Gabe Davis pitched 3 scoreless innings before getting pulled in the fourth inning with one out. Davis walked shortstop Yoeilin Cespedes and was taken out for right-hander Justin Armbruester. The first batter he saw was second baseman Mason White, who hit a fly ball to left fielder Corey Collins, who dropped it, and it brought Cespedes across.

Sunday, August 16 - Rumble Ponies - 8  Sea Dogs - 6

Infielder Marco Vargas chalked up four hits and a career-high four RBI as Binghamton held on to defeat Portland, 8-6, on Sunday afternoon. With two outs and the bases loaded, shortstop Marco Vargas delivered the eventual game-winning two-run single to give Binghamton an 8-6 lead.

Vargas set a career high with four RBI and matched a career high of four hits that he set with Single-A St. Lucie on April 16, 2024. He is just the fourth Binghamton hitter on the active roster to have a four-hit game this season. Vargas put Binghamton in front 1-0 with his second Double-A home run.

Binghamton scored again in the second inning to make it 2-0. Catcher Chris Suero singled and later stole third base to set up left fielder Corey Collins, who delivered a sacrifice fly. Suero tallied his 18th multi-hit game and his first three-hit game and chalked up two stolen bases to sit at 31 on the year.
