Binghamton Police Investigate Fight Between Two Armed Men
A section of a downtown Binghamton street was sealed off after police received a report of a dispute involving two armed men.
Police were sent to a two-story apartment house at 107 Susquehanna Street around 4:50 p.m.
Officers were advised that one of the men involved in the fight had a gun while the other was in possession of a knife.
Susquehanna Street was shut down east of Carroll Street near the Woodburn Court II apartment complex. A perimeter was set up around the scene.
Although the north side of the street was closed as police assessed the situation, several adults and children gathered across the street to watch the activity.
Around 5:25 p.m., a police officer used a patrol vehicle's speaker to direct anyone inside 107 Susquehanna Street to "come out with your hands up."
A few minutes later, several people exited the building. Each person who had been in the house was handcuffed and then interviewed by officers. Handcuffs were removed from some.
At least one person was taken from the scene to the nearby police headquarters.
There were no reports of any injuries associated with the dispute or the police response.
