Who’s Brad Prowly and What’s His Upstate New York Connection?
Hailing from the streets of New York City, Brad Prowly, widely recognized by his stage name "Super Bad Brad," has captivated audiences with his soulful renditions of R&B classics for decades.
Armed with only a boombox and a microphone, Brad made a name for himself as a prominent and eccentric street performer in New York before taking his talents outside of the city streets.
A Talented Performer on the Rise
During his career, Brad has performed in a slew of different places. In 2001, he went on a tour in Europe as the opening performer for The Fun Lovin' Criminals, which helped make him a well-known name in the music world. He also caught the eye of the film industry and appeared in a short film called "Karaoke Man" in 2003.
Lights, Camera, Action: Notable Performances
Brad's popularity grew when he performed at the famous Apollo Theater in 2005. His rendition of Marvin Gaye's song "Let's Get It On" was so captivating that the audience gave him a huge round of applause time and time again.
Super Bad Brad also wowed crowds at the Belmar in Binghamton with a series of shows in August and September 2009.
Evolution of a Street Performer
Brad's performances go beyond just one state. He took his music to Boston, Massachusetts, where he sang for people passing by the Berklee College of Music in October 2009.
Brad's talent was also showcased in music videos like Republic of Loose's "The Idiots" in 2006 and The Killers' holiday song "Boots" in 2010.
A Global Musical Odyssey
Curious minds wonder, "Where is Super Bad Brad now?" and they're also a bit suspicious if he's truly homeless or if there is more to his situation than meets the eye – like perhaps a genius hides behind his façade.

We can’t answer the question about his living situation or whether or not Super Bad Brad is a brilliant self-promoter, but according to his Instagram account, as of October 2024, Brad has ventured across the Atlantic to Bristol, England, continuing to share his street performances.
