If you caught a movie at a Regal Cinemas in New York over the past year, your next payday might just come with popcorn on the side.

Did You Buy a Regal Movie Ticket Online? You Might Be Owed Money

Between July 31, 2023, and July 15, 2024, if you bought a Regal movie ticket online for a movie theater in New York and checked out as a guest, you could be entitled to part of a $2.5 million settlement.

This class action lawsuit claims that Regal didn’t properly disclose a booking fee for electronic ticket purchases, and now they’re paying up.

What’s the Deal With the Lawsuit?

The lawsuit alleged that Regal wasn’t upfront about their booking fees when customers purchased tickets online. The company hasn’t admitted to any wrongdoing, but they’ve agreed to the settlement and will now clearly show the full ticket price (including the fee) before you pick your seats.

Here’s How to Claim Your Share

If you bought your tickets through Regal’s website using guest checkout, you’ll want to submit a claim form. It’s quick and easy to do online, but don’t sleep on getting it done because the deadline is this coming Monday, April 21, 2025.

Your payment will depend on how much in fees you paid and can be sent to you via check, PayPal, Zelle, or Venmo.

How to Know If You’re Eligible

You bought Regal Cinemas tickets online, you checked out as a guest (not logged into an account), your movie was in New York State, and you bought your tickets between July 31, 2023, and July 15, 2024.
