On January 15th, 2025, the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest in the Town of Sherburne that led to serious allegations of criminal contempt and drug possession.

Randall C. Harmon, a 43-year-old resident of Sherburne, found himself in custody after violating specific conditions of an Order of Protection.

The incident unfolded when members of the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with NYS Parole Officers, conducted a home visit at Randall’s residence. It was during this visit that officers discovered the presence of a female subject, a violation of the protective order issued against Randall.

The order explicitly prohibited the female from being around his child or within the child's residence. Officers found that Randall's son was at home during the visit, implicating Randall in a potential breach of the protective order.

The home visit also unearthed another discovery when Parole Officers located a white crystal-like substance, later confirmed to be methamphetamine. This substance added another layer to the allegations against Randall, leading to his arrest and subsequent transportation to the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office for processing.

Randall C. Harmon now faces a series of charges, including Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree, CPCS 7th Degree (Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance), and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Following the processing of his charges, Randall was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility due to an active Parole Warrant linked to prior charges.
