A new survey from Lurie Children's Hospital found that AI is becoming a regular tool for families across the country.Over 80% of parents said they use AI to help with parenting, and 43% said they use it at least once a week.

Parents Are Using AI for Everyday Tasks

According to the survey, parents will use AI to look up health information, make meal plans, and get advice about children's behavior. For New York families juggling work, school activities, sports, and household responsibilities, AI can offer answers and ideas. Many parents say the technology is helping them save time.

Parents Say It Reduces Stress

The survey found that about two out of every three parents believe AI has reduced their mental load. That means many parents feel less overwhelmed because AI can help with tasks that would normally take extra time, such as researching information, planning meals, or coming up with solutions to everyday parenting challenges.

Children Are Using AI Too

The study found that 34% of parents say their children are already using AI tools, chatbots, or AI-powered toys. As AI becomes more common in schools, apps, and online tools, experts expect that number to continue growing.

Many Parents Have Concerns

Three out of four parents said they worry about the growing use of AI among children. The survey found that 28% of parents do not currently have any rules or limits in place for AI use. Experts say parents should talk openly with their children about both the benefits and risks of AI.
