Binghamton native, Mark Withers, known for his roles in television shows such as "Dynasty" and "Stranger Things," has passed away at the age of 77.

According to his daughter, Jessie, Withers passed away on November 22 after battling pancreatic cancer.

A Legacy of Strength and Dedication

In a heartfelt statement to Fox News Digital, Jessie Withers praised her father's bravery and resilience, "He confronted his illness with the same strength and dignity he brought to his craft, creating a legacy of warmth, humor, and dedication. His remarkable ability to make every role unforgettable will always be cherished."

Versatility on Screen

Throughout his career, Withers showcased his versatility by appearing in numerous television series, including "The Dukes of Hazard", "Dallas", "True Blood", "Criminal Minds", "Matlock", "L.A. Law", and many others. His remarkable talent extended to the big screen, with notable film credits like "Basic Training", "Bolden", and "The Ultimate Life".

Beyond Acting

Variety reports that Withers was not only a gifted actor but also an accomplished athlete who earned an NCAA football scholarship to Penn State University. Before his successful acting career, he even lent his talents to national commercials for prominent brands like McDonald's, Folger’s Coffee, Irish Spring, and American Airlines.

Honoring his Legacy

Withers is survived by his wife, Haiyan Liu Withers, and his daughter, Jessie. In honor of his memory, the family has requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
