In the early hours of Monday, November 11, 2024, Deputies from the Delaware County Sheriff's Office mobilized in response to a two-car motor vehicle accident on State Highway 10 in the Town of Walton.

Initial reports indicated that two individuals were trapped within their vehicles, with one person ejected from one of the cars.

Upon arrival at the scene, emergency medical personnel announced the news of the passing of 48-year-old Lawrence E. Foster and 24-year-old Kaelyn M. Foster, both residents of Walton. In addition, 44-year-old Grace M. Bartolillo from Downsville sustained severe injuries and was transported by Lifenet to Albany Medical Center for urgent medical treatment.

The Delaware County Sheriff's Crash Reconstruction Unit joined the investigation, necessitating the closure of State Highway 10 for an extended period to reconstruct the details of the incident.

Assisting in the response effort were members of the Village of Walton Police Department, the New York State Police, Walton Fire Department, Walton EMS, Delhi Fire Department, Ambulnz Mobile Medical Services, Life Net 7-8, Delaware County Ambulance, Delaware County Emergency Services, and the New York State Department of Transportation.
