When Is Chenango Valley Park Open?
Chenango Valley State Park is located off State Route 369 in Chenango Forks and is open 365 days a year. The park hours during the summer season are Sunday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. In the off-season, hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays only, according to the NYS DEC.
There is a vehicle entrance fee - $7 for cars and $35 for buses.
What Is There To Do At Chenango Valley State Park?
Well, plenty. Boating, camping, swimming, golf, shelter rentals, relaxing, and trails to walk/hike.
Boating
Boating season runs from April 15th to October 15th for car-top boats/kayaks/canoes only. Trailers or gas-powered motorized boats are not allowed. The park offers boat rentals, including rowboats, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards.
Camping
Looking to camp? At Chenango Valley State Park, there are 184 campsites in three areas: Pine Bluff & Sunrise; Chipmunk Loop 4 for tent and RV/travel trailer sites; and 25 cabins available.
To reserve a site/cabin, call Reserve America at 800-456-2267. The camping season is from May 15th through October 11th, 2026, with some earlier closing dates for some cabins/sites.
Swimming
The swimming season began on May 23rd and is now open 7 days a week through September 7th, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The area features a beach and playground area.
Golfing
For those of you looking to golf, the season is open April to November. For golf information, call the pro shop at (607) 648-9700.
Shelter Rental
Shelters are available to rent from May 2nd through October 11, 2026, weather permitting, from 9 a.m . to sunset. There are three pavilions and two rooms available to rent, each with different capacity limits.
Winter At Chenango Valley State Park
Wintertime at Chenango Valley State Park brings an opportunity for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
