Popular Western New York Store Shares Massive NASCAR News
NASCAR returns to New York State this season for a playoff race on the historic road coarse at Watkins Glen International! The track has hosted NASCAR since the 1980's, and this could be the most anticipated, and exciting weekend of racing yet!
The Go Bowling at The Glen race weekend is September 11-15 at Watkins Glen International and has a great list of events for fans to enjoy.
But the weekend just got more exciting for race fans here in the Western New York area as it was revealed that, again this year, one of the cars in the Xfinity race on the 14th will feature a familiar name.
For years, people have gotten their running shoes from The Runners Roost in Orchard Park and East Amherst. The family owned and operated shoe store will be a sponsor on the #51 Chevy driven by Jeremy Clements. I spoke with Robert Fox from The Runners Roost about the exciting weekend. They were giving away tickets for the race (contest ends 9/6) and partnering with Clements and his crew for the Xfinity race.
According to Rob, The Runners Roost also outfits the Clements crew with shoes for the track and the shop!
This is a great moment for Rob and for Western New York's race fans! This year's race is a playoff for the NASCAR series of races and, according to reports, next year will see the return of the regular season racing at Watkins Glen. Runners Roost will be on the rear quarter panels of the car for the big race!
