There are just a couple of days left in the "Spread The Love" campaign at FeedMore WNY.  Here's how you can help.

What is FeedMore WNY?

FeedMore WNY is an organization in Western New York that helps to provide meals to people who need them.  They were formed a few years ago when the Food Bank of Western New York merged with Meals on Wheels.  The goal is to end hunger in our community.

What is the "Spread The Love" campaign all about?

Right now, FeedMore WNY is finishing up with what they call the "Spread The Love" campaign.  It's an effort to collect as much peanut butter (and other nut butters) as they can to fill their shelves.  As of right now, they've gotten over 5,000 pounds of peanut butter but they're hoping to surpass last year's total of over 7,600 pounds.

Why are they asking for peanut butter?

Peanut butter is one of the best things you can donate to a food bank.  First of all, it's packed with protein.  So it will help to fill bellies and provide good nutrition to families in need.  Also, it's sweet, so it can either be used for a meal or a dessert.  Kids love it (as long as they aren't allergic) and it can be used as a treat.

“Donations of peanut butter always are highly desired and greatly appreciated here at FeedMore WNY. Not only is peanut butter packed with protein, but it is shelf stable and beloved by children and adults alike.” - FeedMore volunteer and event coordinator Betsy Campbell

How can you donate if you'd like to take part?

The "Spread The Love" campaign is going on throughout February.  You can drop off your donation 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays at their warehouse at 91 Holt St., Buffalo.

If you'd prefer to make a virtual donation (purchase and donate peanut butter directly to their food distribution warehouse) get started by clicking here.
