If there is one thing that we've learned about Buffalo and its sports teams, it is that the love and respect run deep. So deep that many of us feel that members of the Bills, Bisons, Bandits, and Sabres are like part of the family. Many of the people who have been part of these teams feel that way, as many of them have made Western New York their home.

This, of course, means when our favorite players and coaches have important milestones, it often feels like we are right there with them to celebrate the highs and lows of life.

That was on full display in Canton, Ohio, on Saturday, August 2, 2025, when former Bills coach Marv Levy was being honored by the Pro Football Hall of Fame during the Class of 2025 Enshrinement ceremony.

Levy, who received a special nod from the Hall of Fame in celebration of his 100th birthday, which is on Sunday, August 3, 2025, was honored on stage by former Buffalo Bills Hall of Famers Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, and James Lofton.

Marvin Daniel Levy was born on August 3, 1925, in Chicago, Illinois, and after serving in the United States Army Air Force in the 1940s, he went on to play Defensive Back for Coe College in Iowa. After playing for Coe and earning his degree, he went on to Harvard University to earn his Master's Degree in English history.

Levy then started a long and historic coaching career, holding positions with various teams in the NCAA, USFL, CFL, and NFL, before joining the Buffalo Bills in 1986 and helping to lead the Bills to some of the best years they have ever had.

Happy Birthday, Marv!
