If you’re a Kenny Chesney fan in New York State, there could be some exciting news on the horizon.

As summer rolls on with outdoor concerts, county fairs, and festivals, Kenny Chesney is preparing for a major appearance on NBC’s Today show on September 17. That has many fans wondering if a big announcement, possibly a 2027 tour, is coming.

Why Buffalo Fans Are Watching Kenny Chesney’s September Appearance

How has your summer been?

Here in Western New York, we’ve been enjoying Little League baseball, backyard parties, picnics, and plenty of great concerts. Luke Bryan put on an incredible show in downtown Buffalo in June, and the weather couldn’t have been better.

If you’re not from New York State, you might think all we get is snow. The truth is, this is one of the best times of the year to live here. From the Fourth of July through the fall, Western New York offers beautiful weather, outdoor festivals, concerts, and countless opportunities to enjoy the outdoors before winter eventually returns.

New York’s Outdoor Concert Season Is Just Getting Started

As we move through the second half of July, some of the biggest events of the year are still ahead. The New York State Fair is right around the corner, and major concerts continue at popular venues like CMAC, Darien Lake Amphitheater, and SPAC.

There’s also a brand-new venue that could become one of the biggest concert destinations in New York State, the new Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park.

Could Kenny Chesney Play the New Highmark Stadium?

The new Highmark Stadium will soon become the permanent home of the Buffalo Bills, but football isn’t expected to be its only attraction. Large concerts and other major entertainment events are expected to be part of the stadium’s future.

Could Kenny Chesney be one of the first superstar performers?

Right now, all eyes are on his September 17 appearance on NBC’s Today show. Over the years, many artists have used high-profile television appearances to announce new tours or major projects. It wouldn’t be surprising if Chesney revealed plans for a 2027 tour.

If that happens, Buffalo fans will certainly be hoping the new Highmark Stadium is one of the stops.

Chesney already has a strong history of performing throughout New York State, making venues across the region familiar territory. The new stadium would be a fitting location for one of country music’s biggest stars.

Meanwhile, Garth Brooks has already announced an arena tour beginning in August in Indianapolis, giving country music fans even more to look forward to. Buffalo fans will be hoping Western New York lands on his tour schedule as well.

For now, all we can do is enjoy the rest of summer, keep an eye on Kenny Chesney’s September announcement, and hope that 2027 brings a major country concert to Buffalo’s newest stadium.

With cooler evenings beginning to sneak in every now and then, it’s a reminder that one of the best seasons of the year in New York is just around the corner. Get outside, enjoy the concerts, and keep your fingers crossed for some exciting tour announcements.
