All across New York State, flags will be lowered to half staff after an order from the Governor marking a one year anniversary.

The United States is watching and waiting to see what will happen next in the tense war that is underway in the Middle East. The one year anniversary has arrived of the brutal terror attack last October.

Here in New York State, observations and demonstrations are also planned as the one year mark arrives.

According to multiple reports, flags are going to be lowered to half staff across New York to mark one year since the news of Hamas attacking Israel.

IN her post on "X", formerly Twitter, New York State Governor Kathy Hochul mentioned that: "More than a thousand innocent people were murdered in a vile and cowardly act of hate and terror. It wasn't just an attack on the Jewish people. It was an attack on all who believe in peace".

Security may be a little tighter in places you travel to this week.

While the world, and the United States are keeping an eye on the Middle East, here at home, American's are still trying to recover from the devastation from Hurricane Helene as another powerful storm forms and is taking aim at the southeast.
