Just because the Erie County Fair is over, doesn't mean you've had your last piece of fried dough yet.

It's no secret that the end of the Erie County Fair in Western New York is one of the biggest signs that the summer is coming to an end.  Normally that's when people get excited about football games, start closing up their pools, and start to get ready for the kids to head back to school.

But we aren't ready to throw in the towel on summer just yet.

Here in Western New York, we love to make the most of our seasons.  We will start with summer events as long as possible, and we will continue them until we can't anymore.

We aren't done with the festival season just yet.  There are still some more to look forward to!  Here are just a handful of them:

1. The South Buffalo Irish Festival - "A family friendly festival to celebrate Irish music and culture. A full day of Irish music and dancing in Cazenovia Park"

When:  Saturday August 24, 2024

Where:  Cazenovia Park

What:  A celebration of Irish culture including Irish music, dancing, and more

2.  The Elmwood Village ArtFest - "A celebration of creativity, community, and culture."

When:  Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, August 25, 2024

Where:  In front of shops and in (closed) parking lots all along Elmwood Avenue

What:  Artists will present their artwork, plus food, drinks, and live performances.

3.  The Buffalo German Festival - "The kickoff event to Oktoberfest season"

When:  Friday, August 30th (From 5:30 pm until 10:00 pm) and Saturday, August 31st (From noon to 9:00 pm)

Where:  Cheektowaga Town Park

What:  "German beer and cuisine, listening to authentic bands, learning traditional dances, participating in contests and games, and partying for a weekend with nearly 2,000 of your friends and family!"

4.  The National Buffalo Wing Festival - "The National Buffalo Wing Festival celebrates the “Chicken Wing”, known nationally as “Buffalo Wings”, which have become a national food icon."

When: Saturday, Aug. 31st (From 12 pm to 9 pm) and Sunday, Sept. 1st (From 12 pm to 7 pm)

Where:  Highmark Stadium – “Home of the Buffalo Bills” One Bills Drive, Orchard Park, NY 14127

What:  A festival celebrating the chicken wing.  You'll get to try wings from a bunch of in-state and out-of-state vendors, plus watch wing-eating contests, live music, and more.

5.  The Niagara County Peach Festival

When:  Thursday Sept. 5 - Sunday Sept. 8th

Where: Academy Park in Lewiston, NY

What:  Live entertainment, food, rides, a parade, a Peach Queen Contest, and more
