If you have ceiling fans in your house, there is something you need to do if you want to stay extra cool. You want to make sure your fan is spinning in the right direction to push the cool air down on you.
Ceiling fans are made to push either cool or warm air down based on the direction of the blades. In winter, you want the warm air blowing on you; in summer, you want the cooler air.

If you want to keep cool this summer, you will want to make sure that the fan's blades are turning counterclockwise. That will push the cooler air down on you.
In the summer, the blades should be turning clockwise, since that will pull rising warm air and push it down on you.
How To Change Your Fan Blades
Most ceiling fans will have a switch on the side of the base. Pushing that switch to one side or the other will change the way the blades rotate.
You will want your fans going in the right direction this weekend, as we are seeing hot and humid weather for much of New York State over the weekend.
