Former Buffalo Bisons Who Will Play In The 2025 World Series
Congratulations to the Toronto Blue Jays for making it to the 2025 World Series. Regardless of whether they're your favorite team, or not, it's pretty cool to think about all the players that will be playing in baseball's biggest series who have played right here at one time or another in Buffalo.
Why are there so many former Buffalo Bisons on the Blue Jays?
There are a ton of former Buffalo Bisons playing for the Blue Jays. That's because the Bisons are considered the farm team for the Jays. In other words, the Bisons are the team where players go to either transition from being a college or amateur player to become a professional player. Some will spend some time on farm teams when they're on rehab assignments too. So if they're coming back from an injury, they can get some game action without playing at the "pro" level.
The impact that the Bisons had on the Blue Jays in 2025
How important are the Bisons to the Blue Jays? Just to highlight the impact that the Bisons had on the Blue Jays in 2025, every player who was a starter for the Blue Jays in Game 7 of the ALCS had previously played at least one game for the Buffalo Bisons.
You may also remember just 5 years ago, when the world shut down due to COVID that the Bisons gave up their home stadium so the Blue Jays could play there. The teams weren't allowed to go back and forth between the two countries, so Toronto just set up camp in Buffalo and played its home games there.
The teams have really helped each other throughout their 12-year partnership, so watching this series is going to be very special for fans in Buffalo.
