The Buffalo Bills' offense has been doing specialized handshakes with Josh Allen since he became the starter years ago. Each player had their own specific "shake" they would do with him. Now, it looks like the defense is finally catching up.

Allen has talked about how he develops different handshakes with every player on his team. Sometimes it's the very first one that they try that sticks. Other times, it takes a little while to get them just right. We've seen everything from elaborate handshakes, to something reminiscent of a police patdown, to a simple hug.

The important thing is that every player on the offense gets one. As silly as it seems, it makes them all feel like they matter. It's not just something that Allen shares with his favorite players. It's not something that he does with close friends. It's showing them each that they all matter and, as he often says, that he loves them.

The Bills defenders are bringing their own handshake ritual

Today was the first time we saw that kind of chemistry on the Bills defense. It's not to say that the guys on the defense haven't been close, but this is the first time we've seen them do something like this.

They mimicked everything from hunting and fishing to something that looked like what you do when you're "rolling the dough" in pattycake.

It's important because like when the offense does it, it shows a bit of closeness that we didn't see before.
