When you ask someone what the biggest problem is with having the Buffalo Bills stadium in Orchard Park, New York, most times they will say the following:

  • The location is bad for traffic
  • The parking is not ideal at all
  • There are not enough bars or restaurants nearby.

Fans are not thrilled that the closest place to stay by the stadium is a motel.

The Orchard Park Motel is located on Southwestern and is stepping up to the plate and giving fans a place to stay when coming to a game, especially if you are coming from out of town. Most hotels in Western New York are easily accessible by the airport, which is about a 25-minute commute to Highmark Stadium, and fans say they need more. The Orchard Park Motel just put in half a million dollars to renovate, and they are now officially reopened.

All are probably true, when it comes to the other three biggest complaints, but over the years, don't you think we have just adapted well? I mean, you are going to wait in a ton of traffic no matter WHERE or what you are doing in the United States with 70,000 people. So, is the traffic really THE biggest problem? Probably not. The parking? Even if you have to park and walk, 15 minutes is probably the most. Not horrible. The bars? We have made do with some of these legendary bars, and although they are packed wall to wall, they are still some great spots--O'Neil's, Danny's, Big Tree, Prohibition, and more. BUT you have to drive in order to get to a MAJOR hotel chain that is close to the stadium

Not having a major hotel directly by Highmark Stadium is probably a miss. You have an Econo Lodge about 2 miles away, but your first major hotel chain is the Hampton Inn, and it is 4 miles away.
