Wow! Amazing Discovery On This New York State Trail
The riding has been pretty good on some of the snowmobile trails in New York State. The Tug Hill region has gotten enough snow to bring in riders from across New York State and the conditions have been decent. However, there are warmer temperatures in the forecast and rain.
If you have not ridden in, or traveled to the Tug Hill plateau, try to put it on your list of things to see in New York State. The serenity and wild beauty of the massive forests is a true treasure. The vast views from some of the overlooks in Lewis County are some of the best in the country. For those who ride a snowmobile, there are some of the best and well maintained trails you could ever ride.
After the recent lake effect snow, riders were everywhere on "the Tug" and packed local restaurants and taverns like the Montague Inn. Snow is considered to be white gold for these establishments and a massive part of the economy.
You never know what you might find on a trail or what people may have lost. The Tug Hill region can become a 150,000 acre lost and found. This past week, a group of riders found a set of car keys that appear to be for some sort of Ford car or truck. The person we spoke with figured them to be from a late 90s-early 2000s model.
The keys are still in the pole that holds a street sign on Corridor 5 and Corridor 5A. Junction LW 31 C.
