The month of March is about to begin and Old Man Winter is trying to keep his grip on Western New York. The month of February was one of the warmest in recent memory here in the Buffalo area but ended with a quick blast of arctic air.

Those of us who grew up in WNY know that it can snow in May! A late winter, or early spring snow storm is not out of the question when it comes to the long range forecast. All it takes is a cold front to pass over Lake Erie and we could see the snow pile up.

When you picked out the car or truck you own, did you consider the weather we get? The right vehicle can make all the difference considering the rapid changes we get in the forecast. From blizzards to surprise lake effect snow storms, you have to ready for just about anything from October to May.

After driving on Western New York roads for more than 30 years, I have seen my share of cars that struggle in snowy conditions. These are the cars that you have to be cautious of when you are driving near them and the ones that are hardest to control in the snow.

We are headed back to the roller coaster of weather this weekend as the arctic air moves on and the spring like temperatures return. Is it fair to say that March is coming in more like a tame cat than a lion?
