$200 Rebate Checks Coming Next Week to New York State Homeowners

Governor Hochul has officially announced the New York State residents will get $200 energy rebate checks on the way.

Monday morning, the New York State Governor that the checks will be sent out next week.

Are all of the checks only $200?

Yes they're about 8.2 million households in New York state that will qualify for the new energy rebate check. This will be a one-time only payment and not a year after your payment such as the STAR check for homeowners.

How do I know if I'm one of the people who will qualify to get the $200 check?

And it's all based about how much money you make. Do not worry though if you make more than the threshold for the $200 you can still qualify for lesser money.

  • Joint tax filers with incomes below $150,000 will receive $200.
  • Households making between $150,000 and $300,000 will receive $150.
  • Single filers earning less than $150,000 will receive $100.

Do not worry if you do not get the check right away the checks will start being sent out September 21st and will take a couple of MONTHS until they are all completely sent out. NEW YORK STATE OFFICIALS THINK THE CHECKS WILL NOT BE COMPLETELY DONE UNTIL THE END OF 2026.
