House Fire in Otego Claims Life of Two Pets

No people were injured but a family dog and cat died in a fire that destroyed a doublewide at 124 Mill Creek Road in Otego.

Officials say the home was owned by 54-year-old Jeffrey Purdy. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation. The Otego Fire Department received mutual aid from the Oneonta and West Oneonta Departments.
